CompareandContrast Essay Microsoft vs Apple

Their products can last years like their laptops for example, but if you have a windows based laptop you need to replace it really year in order to keep up with technology. When talking about what to compare with these two companies I am going to focus on the logo, stocks, and their operational systems. Apple is a much consumer-based product, while Microsoft tends to reach out more towards businesses. Apples logo is more classic and just a picture of an apple with a bite out of the apple. While Microsofts is just the name Microsoft with four colored squares that look like a window.Microsoft looks like a combination of Google and Apples design elements. Microsoft tries to call design elements from multiple companies in order to help them with the public. No more logo in technology is more known than Apples. Microsoft has tried many propagation to rebind themselves. According to Matt Burns, Microsofts logo is simply me, and I couldnt agree more (Burns, 2012, Para. 3). Microsoft ha s regained its position as the number 2 most valuable US company right behind Number 1 Apple. Apple is a maker of closed and proprietary Technology products.Apple has earned a commanding grocery store value of 669 billion in comparison to Microsofts 408 billion. Apple develops its in secret and unveils them to the public with presentations shown to people all over the world. Apple and Microsoft are in a dead heat this year with shares of Apple rising 21. 5% and Microsoft rising at 20. 3%. During the intermediate term, its a close battle, too. Shares of Apple are up 69. 8% over the past three years, just marginally ahead of the 63. 6% rise by Microsoft. (Karate, 2014, p. ) The edge goes to Apple over the last tailfin years Apple is up 314% compared to Microsoft 91 % gain. Contrary to popular belief prior to the phone 6 coming out, Microsoft outsold Apple on cellophanes. The trouble for Microsoft though is only 5. 8 million out of 36 million was smartness. Apple SO X and Microsoft W indows are two of the most used run systems. When is comes to the operating systems Apple has more software bundled with their operating system than Microsoft. There are more titles available on the Windows platform. SO X has more offerings in symphony and video production. You can run windows non Mac, but you cant run SO X on windows. So you have the best of both worlds on an Apple computer. When it comes to security measure of the operating system a vicious program can change the system on windows without you even knowing it. When it comes to Apple, SO X added sandbagging to improve protective covering against mallard and Trojan. (Apple vs.. Microsoft, 2014, Para. 6) When it comes to viruses you have to buy additional software to protect it on a Microsoft operating system, but with Apple it comes built into their operating system. When you essential to upgrade your operating system it is more affordable with Apple. If you wanted the newest operating system with Apple it would b e free if you had the prior operating system, and with Microsoft it would cost 1 19. 99 for just the upgrade version. With Apple you can just install it from the App store, but with Microsoft you would have to go to a tore to purchase it. While SO X has the benefit off faster startup and higher performance, the graphics applications run faster on Windows. The question of what company is better in my judgement is Apple. All the hardware and software just works well to regainher. Apple offers an absolutely flawless integration of hardware and software. Only with Apple do you get a system built by the same group who makes the operating system, the applications and the computer. The Apple operating system and its hardware make for a far more reliable, less troublesome environment than Windows. Microsoft just does not have a consistent, coherent and unified brand like Apple clearly does.

Literary Criticism Essay

The beauty about literature is that it can be see in a number of ways and all those ways can be regarded as a possibility and even entirely true. No reckon what angle, approach or perception a person uses to see, analyze and scutinize a literary work, that depth psychology will always be considered as a peradventure correct literary crticism. However, this is also the problem regarding literary criticisms since there is no wrong depth psychology, anything can be true. Thus, an analysis does non necessarily help contributors in except understanding the textbook, analyses just give readers the chance to look at a text in a different light. This is what Liane Norman gives readers when anliterary criticism was create verbally regarding the famous work of Herman MelvilleBartleby the scriber with a subtitle of A Story of Wall Street. In Normans analysis, Bartleby and the Reader, she gives importance on the relationship of the text, Bartleby the Scrivener, and the readers itself of t he text. According to Norman, the text concentrate on having the reader as an important character or making the reader play an important role in the structure and interepretation of the text. This analysis of Norman is with loopholes, as with many literary criticisms. She does indeed present a rather effective and convincing judgement on Bartleby the Scrivener just she failed to catch out the important of the text on its own. It is as if, the text cannot exist without the role that the reader played in the creation of the text when in fact, Bartleby the Scrivener can be seen as a creation which is intended to point something out to the reader. This argument is what will be contained in this criticism of a literary criticism wherein a premise is presented that Norman did deliver a technical argument and judgement on Bartleby the Scrivener but she failed in delivering a good argument that should have not illicited further contestations. In Herman Melvilles Bartleby the Scrivener A S tory of Wall Street, a copyist (or copyist or clerk in a firm), is the protagonist while the narrator is the protagonists boss but who, it seems, wants to be the protagonist himself.Tthe lawyer who is Bartlebys boss gives also much information about himself and too little information on the protagonist, Bartleby. The layer starts off in the lawyer going on about how he hired and met Bartleby but not sooner going to great lengths as he introduces himself I am a rather elderly man. The nature of my avocations for the last thirty years has brought me into more than universal contact with what would seem an interesting and somewhat singular set of men, of whom as yet nothing that I know of has ever been writtenImean the law-copyists or penmans.(Melville, 2006) The lawyer and Bartleby soon venture into a rather harmonous and beneficial relationship with each otherthat is until Bartleby decides one day that he has enough of being a scrivener and stops doing his job properly to the p oint that he does not do anything at all. The curious and perverse Lawyer just lets Bartleby be as the scrivener goes on with life doing absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, things get out off hand to the point that Bartleby is imprisoned for hanging out in the building when it is neither his plateful ror has he any rights to loiter in the place. This ends the story as Bartleby refuses everythingcompanionship, food, waterhe dies a sad death in prison, all alone. Later on, the Lawyer finds out that Bartleby has been working in the Dead Letter Office wherein he sorts the mail of dead people. The Lawyer associates this previous job of Bartleby as the reason why the scrivener has become depressed and decided to one day, to just let everything go. In Liane Normans Bartleby and the Reader, the role that the reader plays in giving signification to Bartleby and the Scrivener is focused on.According to Norman (1971), there is a rigorous and demanding human transaction that takes place between the reader and the story. This transaction is the ability of the text to have meaning only when the reader wills it do so. Thus, the dialogue, lines and other descriptions in the story would be moot and pointless if the reader does not believe otherwise. In fact, the reader becomes a character in the story itself without being in it as what Norman (1971) asserts, the reader is both separateicipant and judge in the alike(p) way that the Lawyer or the narrator of the story is also the participant and the judge. Thus, while the Lawyer is one of the characters in the story, his way of storytelling wherein he is detached from the other characters makes him have the resembling role as the reader. This in turn, makes the reader as the Lawyer and the Lawyer as one of the readers. But more than this form of analysis, Norman takes the notch further by relating the text and the characters to a greater and more profound extent by juxtaposing it with Christian values or ideals and the nature of democracytwo things which argon inherently, albeit subtly, presented as the themes in Bartleby the Scrivener. On the other hand, the way Norman anaylzed the literary text was correct in a way that she gives meaning to the context and the content but remiss in her ability to add too much interepretation and meaning to what could have been just simple or meaningless lines. This is perhaps a bigger mistake in not being able to see much meaning in a literary work, that of seeing too mucha case of overreading. Norman was not false in her analysis, but she was extreme in that too much interpretatation is given from too little information. Thus, her mistake was that she was not able to give importance to the interepretation of the literary text as a text itself but she instead, concentrated on the text as how it would be interpreted by the reader. Bartleby the Srivener does not become merely Bartleby the Scrivener but it becomes, instead, Bartleby and the Reader. Norman placed too much em phasis and importance on the reader as being part of the literary work and literary analysis. But the reader is of course important, for who will analyze a text but that being the reader himself/herself?However, what Norman has done is to indicate that there is but one reading presented by the reader and that is the only correct reading while at the same time the reader is no one but herself. What Norman should have done is present the analysis on the text as being Bartleby and A Reader instead of having it as Bartleby and THE Reader. For exploitation the determiner the indicates that there is only one reader and that one reader is and will always be right. Thus, Normans analysis gives a vaild credibility to her argumenteven if the argument is indeed credible, it is unfortunately not valid. Although, there is something which is admirable and commendable in Normans analysis which is the last part of her article wherein she gives a profound interpretation on the implication of the Law yers last lines regarding Bartlebys death The deep sense of disappointment that the story inspires in the reader is a function of the aura of Americas hight but impossible promises men have not escaped their limitations simply by founding a new policy.Bartleby is the test of democratic- Christian principle. If his resistance exposes human shortcomings, his persistence reveals man stubbornly laying claim to his humanity. (Norman, 1971) Norman maginificently gives a clear idea and interepretation on Bartlebys death while at the same time, relates its implication to humanity which is humanitys tendency to gain new insights but miserably ends in not carrying out those new policies or insights.Over all, both Melville (in using the character of the Lawyer) and Norman are correct, society stubbornly believes in their humanityeven if it proves that their idealist views on humanitys humanness is sometimes misplaced. Literature Paper Essay

Sophocles deuce plays, namely the AD 6717-658 Oedipus the baron as hygienic as the 658-693 Antigone, are dominated by elements of dispute two external and internal. The external conflict involves two persons with opposing viewpoints being engaged in a physical or philosophical encounter. On the new(prenominal) hand, the internal incases of conflict occur when certain individuals in the 2 plays encounter dilemmas regarding doing things that their consciences counsel against. Further, the playwright describes various characters handling the conflicting situations in a variety of ways. For example, some characters just choose to give in, last complicit, and do the things that their consciences advise against. A notable example of this phenomenon in Oedipus the faggot is Queen Jocastas run of bowing to might Laius (her husbands) pressure and gum olibanum giving away the young Oedipus to be inclined off. Likewise, in Antigone, Ismene depicts the same behavior of allowing ou tside pressure to adversely influence her conscience-led aspirations. To this end, Ismene refuses to join efforts with Antigone her defiant sister in burying Polyneices the 2 sisters departed br some other.Conversely, the 2 plays contain cases whereby physical person-to-person conflicts arise. For instance, in Antigone, Creon Thebes ruler holds viewpoints that conflict with those of Haemon Creons son. To illustrate, when Creon detains and intends to murder Antigone Haemons fiance son and pay off are at loggerheads. The situation deteriorates to the extent of father and son insulting one another. Haemon angrily leaves, promising that he lead never come back.Similarly, in Oedipus the female monarch, King Oedipus becomes conflicted with prophet Tiresias because Tiresias is experiencing an internal sort of conflict. The prophet is alive(predicate) that obese King Oedipus the truth near who killed King Laius would yield no good results. On the other hand, King Oedipus is v ery intent on ascertaining the true identity of Lauis killer, not knowing that Oedipus himself killed Laius. The conflict between the 2 personalities pushes them to exchange harsh words. This conflict is resolved when Tiresias utters the definitive paradox that Laius was indeed killed by his (Laius) son.All in all, with the two plays Antigone and Oedipus the King, playwright Sophocles describes both external and external cases of conflict, with the conflicts being resolved to the detriment of a certain individual. To begin with, Queen Jocastas conflict regarding either disposing off or saving the liveliness of Oedipus her son ends with the infant son being disadvantaged when he is disposed off. The hopeless Oedipus passes from the hands of Jocasta, to a servant, to a lowly shepherd and lastly to a Kings palace.Through such transition, the scotch encounters various hardships. Firstly, he risks being killed and then spends some time out in the open field where he is exposed to t he elements. Further, it is notable that the shepherd who eventually passes Oedipus on to King Polybus has no means of safekeeping and raising the condemned child. Jocastas indecisiveness when she faces the internal conflict of either saving or killing Oedipus then causes the son immense problems. In this case, Sophocles describes a conflict being resolved to the detriment of a token personality Oedipus. In a similar version, in Antigone, Sophocles describes Antigones conflict as resulting in a string of misfortunes. afterward Creon the King unjustly orders that Polyneices should be ignored regarding proper burial, with Eteocles being accorded a adjustment send-off, Antigone Polyneices sister becomes mentally conflicted. Antigone immediately detects Creons partiality in ordering for this obviously discriminative treatment. She thus cannot demonstrate complicity by adhering to Creons unjust edict. The determined girl therefore opts to secretly accord Polyneices a proper burial .By doing this, Antigone risks being put to death as indicated by Creons directive. She however gallantly carries on with her plan and even boldly defending her decisions before the King. Related to Antigones mental conflict is Ismenes dilemma whereby she has to choose to either stand by Antigone or obey Creons disputed decree. By adhering to the directives that Creon has issued, Ismene pull up stakes in effect be betraying Polyneices her brother. Conversely, by deciding to join Antigone in mighty burying Polyneices, Ismene will be showing sisterly responsibility to her departed brother as substantially as to Antigone. In addition, Ismene risks being put to death as per Creons orders should she go by Antigones bold decision. Eventually, Ismene shies away and avoids going by Antigones plans. On her part, Antigone boldly accords Polyneices a proper send-off, thus attracting Creons wrath. Ultimately, the 2 sisters find themselves behind bars, with Ismene being a sort of martyr sin ce she did not get into in Antigones defiant actions. It is at this point that Antigone faces another conflict when Ismene offers to suffer the consequences of Antigones actions.Antigone is aware that it would be unjust to allow Ismene suffer the same fate as Antigone. Although outside pressure eventually forces Creon to let the 2 girls walk free, the conflict that Ismene and Antigone face is resolved with disastrous results. Further, the decision that Antigone makes because of being mentally conflicted serves to make Creons son Haemon to also become conflicted. To illustrate, after Creon puts Antigone in prison, intending to kill the girl, Haemon intervenes, trying to rock Creon to let the girl walk away. Haemon does this because he is an intimate friend to Antigone. He thus cannot allow his father to kill Antigone owing to the love that Haemon has for Antigone. It is worth noting that Haemon is in a tight spot when he approaches Creon, persuading the King to let Antigone go away . This is because Haemon risks being branded a traitor or someone who demonstrates insubordination towards the King. On the other hand, should Haemon decide to keep quiet, allowing the King to do as he wills with Antigone, Haemon will demonstrate deficiency of commitment towards Antigone. Son and father thus confront each other because they hold varying viewpoints about the incarceration of Antigone.Again, Sophocles describes a person-to-person conflict being resolved in a negative way. After Haemon and Creon hurl insults at each other, Haemon walks away, promising that he will never come back. True to his words, Haemon commits suicide. Likewise, through the Oedipus the King play, Sophocles describes the shepherd who witnessed King Laius murder as well as Oedipus as being conflicted both externally and internally. For instance, King Oedipus desires to know every detail of his (Oedipus) childhood. On the other hand, the shepherd is aware that should he become aware of his past, Oedi pus will only experience pain. The shepherd thus only gives certain lucubrate of Oedipus childhood after which he begs to be allowed to stop the narration. By doing this, the shepherd seeks to shield Oedipus from the pain that will inevitably result when the King learns of his (the Kings) past. Such good intentions are however misunderstood by Oedipus as the shepherds demonstration of insubordination. Consequently, Oedipus threatens the shepherd with death should he hold back both information from the King. The shepherd is thus deeply conflicted. He is very sure that when Oedipus learns the truth about Oedipus lineage, the King will surely be gravely hurt.Out of fear for his life, the shepherd finally explains all the detail about Oedipus life. Consequently, the King becomes distraught. Further, the Queen commits suicide, after which Oedipus gorges out both his eyes and goes into self-imposed exile. Once more, Sophocles describes the conflict between the shepherd and King Oedipus as being resolved in a bad room as it results in the deaths of Queen Jocasta and the self-imposed exile of King Oedipus. In conclusion, though his 2 plays Oedipus the King and Antigone playwright Sophocles describes numerous instances whereby various characters are conflicted either externally or internally. One notable case of mental conflict in Antigone is the instance when Antigone has to choose to either remain loyal to Polyneices her brother or obey Creons dictatorial decree. Conversely, the instance when Creon and Haemon exchange bitter words denotes external conflict. On the other hand, in Oedipus the King, Jocastas indecision regarding whether to dispose off or save Oedipus represents internal conflict. The shepherd and Oedipus confrontation demonstrates external conflict. Further, all the conflicts that are presented in both Oedipus the King as well as in Antigone are resolved in ways that harm certain characters.

Theseus’ Ship

The Ancient Identity Crises The transitivity of personal identity element is a school principal often contemplated by philosophers through philosophical puzzles of change. A popular version of the puzzle includes a slice named Theseus and his station. A ship in which has underg angiotensin-converting enzyme a gradual change where all of the lumber was replaced by the sweet cargo of lumber it carried. The wonder then remains, is this take over the original ship of Theseus? Philosopher John Locke attempts to answer this question by stating that identity is a subjective matter rather than objective. He begins by separating the idea of a substance, organism, and a person and the different criteria used to determine each type of identity. Naturally we would agree with Locke that a ship is a not a living thing capable of thought and assume that it can only be talked ab come forth in reference to matter. However, Locke proposes that a substance like the Ship of Theseus can be talked about with reference to a conscious subjects beliefs towards it.This is based off the fact that a concept of the ships identity could not exist without human consciousness. Locke also provides a kick upstairs suggestion that two things should not be questi unrivalledd as whether or not theyre simply the like. The designer for this being that criteria differs among concepts so we must be c arful in specifying the same what when making comparisons. Therefore, Locke concludes that the idea belong with the ship is the identity of the ship itself. In other words, identity is a relative aspect rather than absolute, angiotensin converting enzyme that heavily depends on context of use. Identity can be defined as the distinct characteristics by which something is recognized. In other words, identity is an idea created by and for people and does not exist without them. This directly links with Lockes idea of relative identity, as the perception of an idea is a relative concept depending on what, where, when, and whom you are asking. We must also keep in mind that just because things are qualitatively identical in sharing similar properties, it may not mean they are numerically identical as one and only(a) and vice versa. It is ultimately up to whomever is answering the question from what angle to declare an objects identity. In this case, I lead present a variety of explanations to the identity of Theseus ship through different contexts. In the context of specify a ship, the change in lumber does not interfere with the necessary criterion of the preconceived model of a ship.Though Theseus ship has undergone a qualitative change through the replacement of lumber, it still remains the same ship by definition of a large vessel that carries goods or people over sea. So the ship may not be qualitatively identical to the old one but numerically the same because it serves the same purpose as Theseus ship over time. Now, consider another context where later Theseus cea ses to exist, somebody purchases and moves this ship onto land to serve and sell dinner on deck. Its then unhazardous to say that the object does not meet the conditions of a ship, despite being qualitatively identical. Instead, the object promptly serves the purpose of a restaurant, causing it to retain a new identity without losing any parts at all. However, the context changes once again when we begin to consider the identity of the ship in relation to Theseus. in spite of the gradual changes, there has only ever been one beginning to Theseus ship, so we can assume that he has no problem claiming it as his own.But what happens when the old, original lumber is collected and used to build a qualitatively similar ship? There are now two ships that share similar properties instead of one ship that is qualitatively different, yet numerically the same over time. Theseus must then claim one ship to be the original based on the criteria he has of how his vessel should be constituted. H is predetermined eyeshot on what conditions must be met in order for either of the ships to be the original is what essentially establishes the identity of the old ship.In this situation, I can agree with Locke that though the old lumber is being used, the ship is still being created from a new beginning, rendering it a new ship. Though it can then be argued that if both ships match Theseus criteria of the original ship, this does not make it possible for them to be one numerical identity as they are nettly two. By analyzing the various contexts above, it causes us to consider identity as colourize matter rather than just a simple black and white answer. It also begins to make it clear that identity is an issue of semantics and epistemology, rather than a metaphysical one. However, while the belief of an idea within a specific circumstance is important in constituting an identity, it becomes difficult to say what is true in a realism of many different perceptions. Thats when sema ntics might be able to step in to sort out the problem of subjectivity. Still, its visible that identity is a relative concept that relies on perception and context rather than something that is absolute.

Family Portrait Essay

My great-grandmother, who is ninety-five years old, recently sent me a movie of herself that I had never seen before. While cleaning out the noodle of her Florida home, she came across a studio enactment she had taken about a year before she married my great-grandfather. This picture of my great-grandmother as a twenty-year-old girl and the story john it have fascinated me from the moment I began to consider it. The young wo composition in the picture has a face that resembles my own in many ways. Her face is a bit more than oval than mine, but the softly waving brown hair around it is identical. The small, straight nose is the kindred model I was born with.My great-grandmothers mouth is closed, yet there is just the slightest hint of a grinning on her full lips. I know that if she had smiled, she would have shown the same wide grin and down-curving smile lines that appear in my own snapshots. The most haunting feature in the photo, however, is my great-grandmothers eyes. They are an require duplicate of my own large, dark brown ones. Her brows are plucked into thin lines, which are like twain pencil strokes added to highlight those fine, luminous eyes.Ive also carefully studied the clothing and jewelry in the photograph. Although the photo was taken seventy-five years ago, my great-grandmother is wearing a blouse and skirt that could easily be have on today. The blouse is made of heavy eggshell-colored satin and reflects the light in its folds and hollows. It has a turned-down cowl collar and smocking on the shoulders and below the collar. The smocking (tiny rows of gathered material) looks hand-done. The skirt, which covers my great-grandmothers calves, is straight and made of light wool or flannel. My great-grandmother is wearing silver-tongued drop earrings. They are about both inches long and roughly shield-shaped. On her left wrist is a matching bracelet. My great-grandmother cant find this bracelet now, despite our having spent hours searchi ng through the attic for it. On the third finger of her left hand is a ring with a large, square-cut stone. The story behind the picture is as interesting to me as the young woman it captures. Great-Grandmother, who was earning twenty-five dollars a week as a file clerk, decided to give her boyfriend (my great-grandfather) a picture of herself. She spent almost two weeks salary on the skirt and blouse, which she bought at a fancydepartment store downtown. She borrowed the earrings and bracelet from her of age(p) sister, Dorothy. The ring she wore was a present from some other young man she was dating at the time. Great-Grandmother spent another chunk of her salary to pay the portrait photographer for the hand-tinted print in old-fashioned tones of brown and tan. honorable before giving the picture to my great-grandfather, she scrawled at the lower left, Sincerely, Beatrice. When I study this picture, I react in many ways. I think about the trouble that my great-grandmother went to in order to impress the young man who was to be my great-grandfather. I laugh when I look at the ring, which was probably worn to make him jealous. I smile at the serious, formal inscription my great-grandmother used at this stage of the budding relationship. Sometimes, I am filled with a mixture of pleasure and sadness when I look at this frozen long since moment. It is a moment of beauty, of love, andin a wayof my own past.

Environmental Education Essay

David W. Orr delves deeper into Rethinking Education. as he relates to the importance and reason of culture and this affirms the six principles that serve as guides to rethinking of education. One of these is the contention that the goal of education is non mastery of composition matter but the mastery of whizzs self. Having the power of knowledge means that it essential be well-used. Included here also is the contention that one cannot claim that he/she knows or sothing unless he understands the effects of this mixed bag of knowledge on actual nation as well as actual communities.Learning is also a process and not just an end product of something (Orr, D. (May/June, 1999) People who are geographically aware must understand how humans should live in different kinds of physical environments. They are not captive to the familiar mid-latitudes but also those that seem less conducive to puttlement such as the rubber and the Equatorial rain forest. It is important that they ar e equipped with the necessary knowledge of how the physical features of these environments roleplay in shaping human activities. The physical environment differs in their carrying capacity. People sometimes fail to understand this which leads to environmental disaster. For example, cyclical environmental change, especially in semiarid environments, can give particular problems for humans which again can lead to desertification, famine, and mass migration, just as what happened in the Sahel of north-central Africa. Man has to comprehend that the family relationship amidst any environment and its inhabitants is mediated by decisions about how much to consume and in what shipway to consume.Water needs to be conserved properly and proper recycling can establish detailed effects on patterns of environmental use. Good teacher must learn how to motivate, inspire, be led and lead, turn making the environment safe for risks and mistakes. They must also demonstrate the ability to lead by example, ethically, morally and purposefully. Good educators regularly communicate the vision and empower the culture within the organization. They continue to build entrust and lead the challenges of a constantly changing workplace and society. They understand that it is necessary to incorporate balance not only in the lives of others, but their own as well. This encourages their students to think about life and work differently. The victor of a well-managed organization is dependent on ones ability to organize, direct and motivate the efforts of the individuals. An impelling coach needs to know the interplay of all theories of management into action in order to be sure-fire as a whole.Students and young people need to be introduced into various cultures around the world in the framework of a melting pot perspective and cultural relativism (Cushner, McClelland, & Safford, p. 68-70). This would call for a new set up or a reorganization of schooling to further illuminate youn g people on how to assimilate world consciousness as they engage in it through the Internet. Young people must be taught how to accept values and cultures by either assimilating them or by just respecting them as they are. There should be more cultural understanding between people around the world and it is surmount being taught as school subjects. If more and more people are properly oriented with the language, religion, touch system and other cultural elements of other nations, I guess we would feel more connected with one another and we will be more culturally sensitive and accepting of other fellows. This cultural preference should also be strengthened by historical and social courses about these other nations. We already have these subjects now but these lack focus and emphasis on its global connections or the links between histories of various nations, their cultures and the global events that unfold and what we ordinarily share in a multicultural technological setting. educa tional policy must be able to answer the needs of people. For instance, people need to overcome some of the life chances which had been experienced by parents. Teachers need to be aware4 of children who needs special nurturing because they show special gift in areas where the school progressed (Aitkin, 2005).However, the usual problem is that people seldom find it easy to start from scratch. familiarity is able to address the performance of these young people No matter what the space provided, the surface of the estate demonstrates the physical diversity in terms of soil, climates, vegetation, and topography. These factors affect the range of environmental contexts for people. People who are geographically informed must understand how humans should live in different kinds of physical environments. They are not confined to the familiar mid-latitudes but also those that seem less conducive to settlement such as the Arctic and the Equatorial rain forest. It is important that they are equipped with the necessary knowledge of how the physical features of these environments play in shaping human activities. I can now understand the dilemma of some administrators of nursing homes. They are burdened with so many responsibilities to take care and ensure that people who avail of their function are attended to and such services are sustained long-term.These efforts are also coupled with agree financial burden to sustain the expenses that go with the various challenges that confront them. Consumer demography and correlation with privacy concerns Many researches carried out on this topic, though special(a) has shown some interesting views. The reclaimings of Wang and Petrison (1993) for example and some other researchers are summarised below older people showed much concern about fiscal privacy than younger ones younger people were to a greater extent aware that their data were being collected than older people younger ones were more concerned about the benefits they would derive from enceinte out such information coloured people were little concerned inner city residents were less concerned lower than average income earners were less concerned about their privacy information, but paid more attention to the compensation attached proud income earners have more awareness and are more concerned about their privacy females exhibit more concern than males about their consumer privacy issues. (Graeff & Harmon, 2002). Many people find it quite easier to produce many demographic data such as age, marital status, occupation and reproduction than to produce that which deals with their finances, health and criminal records. But this also depends on to whom the information is revealed and how it would be used. For example, if you are interruption a checking/loan account with BankPHB plc where I work, you may be required to give details of your financial statement, personal income/pay slip, a utility bill showing evidence of your residence, your social security follow or national identification number as the case may be, your health/life ame nds policy and so many more in case you want access to a loan. Data of such private information could be given out to law enforcement agencies should the individual be suspect of having any involvement in money laundering or other criminal offences.Usually health check records are produced by job applicants at the point of entry for screening purposes. Consumer behaviour as regards online purchases and privacy. On internet purchases many people do not feel palmy giving out their consultation card details online, while some are just not bothered about it, but research has shown that less than a quarter of internet users feel insecure with credit card online purchases and more people prefer to use it in stores, or for telephone purchases (Graeff & Harmon, 2002).Most people do not know how their data is used and even when they do know, it seldom influences their purchasing behaviour, especially if they are high income earners, such that they still go about their normal purchasing. C onsumers feel they ought to be informed and have controller on how marketers use information about their buying habits some also feel that government should regulate such uses (Graeff & Harmon, 2002).Although legal sanctions for misuse of consumer information are now in place, many marketers still push aside this and continue the practise. But it is inevitable that marketers must put a balance between their quest for information from market researches and making their customers feel comfortable doing business with them. Thearling (1998) in his work on data archeological site technology condemns the violation of the customers right to privacy of his information. For instance if you give your details only for the purpose of making a credit card purchase and it is used for any other second-string purpose such as data mining, then it is a serious offence. The primary purpose of data collection must be clearly understood by the customer, with an option to opt out of the disclosure of such data in place. He gave an example of the CVS drug store who continually called customers up when their subscription was referable for the use of Elensys.Obviously they got the data through data mining of patients medical data from hospitals or preliminary purchases. Personally, I feel this issue should be deeply addressed and should be sanctionable to make consumers more comfortable doing their businesses without fear of losing their privacy.
